View Full Version : Chiropractor Cost

I suffer from chronic neck discomfort (not really pain). My doctor says it's just from stress. I get a massage about twice a month, which helps for about a day after I get the massage. I would love to see a chiropractor, but my insurance (Tricare) doesn't cover that. I just wanted an idea of what it might cost to be treated by a chiropractor in the Killeen or Cove area. Anybody know?

Isdale is anywhere between 30-60 dollars a visit, depending on what you need.
They are great, BUT they will try to get you on a "plan" that they work out. Plan works great, IF you have TIME to go 3X a week and pay for it all. Flexplans pay it back if you have one of those.

I tried the chiropractic route for my back pain...no relief at all. Lots of money. Went to a specialist who gave me a shot in the affected area every 6 months for 18 months..pain went away, and I felt like a different person. I have had no more problems..and that has been three years ago. ;) Just my experience...To be fair, I did have problems with both of my feet earlier (could barely walk), and a chiropractor in a different town fixed the problem......

I just finished going for a two month session. The treatment cost about $1200 for three times a week for 24 sessions. Now I go every other week and if you just get the adjustment and not the traction it is $36 a session. I went to Isdale and they basically do an assessment and give you the expensive plan or the inexpensive plan which was just the adjustments for a few weeks was $400. I did the expensive plan because I have a free flex account from my job. I had horrible headaches before I went and they have greatly improved. Though I get the occasional headache, I feel for the most part better.

Thanks for the replies!
I got more information about this on this board! I really appreciate it.

Dave, thanks for reminding me about accupuncture! I just might consider going that route. I've actually gotten accupuncture when we lived in Japan many years ago. One morning I woke up with a terrible pain in my upper back, and I was so upset about it because we were flying to Disneyland the next day. I went to get accupuncture that day, walked out of the accupuncture clinic pain free. The accupuncturist left 3 small needles (like teenie tiny thumb tacks) in my back and told me to massage those areas when the pain started coming back. It actually worked.

I never even thought of Killeen even having an accupuncture clinic. #-o

Scarlett, it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved every minute of the neck traction, not! Back traction is not bad, but neck traction is and after your initial first go around it doesn't change things that much. They encourage you to sign up for another round of intense sessions.

Careful with those shot. I was given one for knee pain when the xray and MRI didn't show anything useful and 10 days later I couldn't walk. After being tested for EVERYTHING under the sun (and I mean everything - we were at Brooks Army Med Center which is a teaching hospital for the army folk) and letting an INTERN have first experience at draining my knee, the orthopedic surgeon decided I had a reaction to the shot which he stated was fairly common.

The dr that gave me the shot claimed it was impossible.

I didn't go to Isdale's clinics, I went to Heights Chiropractic and it did a LOT of good for me. Visits were $35 each.

Polchinki Chiropratic is not a hard sale clinic like the Isdales. Its a husband and wife. I was very happy with the treatments and they did not try to sell the visits for life plan like the Isdales.

Where are they located? And do you know their hours?
Isdale is easy for me, because it is right across the street from where I work. But they make me feel guilty for not wanting to commit to a long plan. I have committment issues...I want to just go in, get popped, and go out. They can keep the traction and anything that ties one down for the next patient...

Ummm....that MAY or may not have come out right...blaming the ambien...

Don't pay those outrageous prices. We have a rack at the VFW we can put you on and stretch you out. Works great.

Sounds strangly fun..hahahahahahahahahahahaha....Can it help me get taller?

I also would recommend the Polchinki Chiropratic. They are great. Had a strained shoulder and couldn't raise my arm above my head. Cost $35 a visit. I would also recommend buying their hot balm. Absolutly Heaven.

Dr. Kevin Trippe of Heights Chiropractic is totally on the up-and-up. No hard sell either. It's also great that he's a nice, caring person with a wonderful bed-side manner, or is it spine-side manner?

Scarlett

I think it is table manner....can't really call that a bed....

I'm SO glad I didn't buy into the Isdale hard sale, now. I was told by one of the Isdales that I basically am lucky to be walking upright. My shoulders aren't right, my spine isn't right, my feet aren't right, my legs aren't right, my pelvis isn't right. He grabbed my butt and pushed it forward so I was like...thrusting my pelvis forward. He told me I should walk like that. Yeahhhhhh...right. I'll get on that. He said I have posture like a former athlete. Is that bad? Is that good? I don't know. he wanted me to get my non thrusting butt into his clinic in the worst way, though. He said he could CURE me of something I have that there is no cure for. Wow. He also said, "I'll give you the best XRay reading you've ever had..." It sounded like a really weird pick up line or something. "Hey baby, come let me read your Xrays!" "I'll give you an XRay reading like you've NEVER had before.." Ew. I didn't go. It sounded scary. Just pop my back and let me go, dude. I don't commit easily...I don't want to pick out curtains with you, just pop my back!

I've used a chiropractor in Northboro,Mass. Dr.Rick Rodgers, he uses the "PALMER METHOD". Put my back in line and got me repaired fully. $35. an appointment.
It worked.;)

I had to go to a chiropracter because my wife would not shut the hell up about how I needed to go blah blah blah. So I had to pick one out just to get her to be quiet!

I picked Chicoine Chiropractic (http://www.chicoinechiropractic.net/) because they actually had a website, they had offices all over Texas and they picked up the phone when I called. Oh and they didn't look like child molesters or have all kinds of goofy stuff like pet chiropractic and cure-cancer-by-sticking-weeds-up-your-butt stuff.

Oh god big mistake.

The office is a dungeon located in the ghetto, they want me to do all kinds of stupid new age crap and the place is covered with posters denouncing "science" and "medicine" as the greatest evil since Eve bit the apple.

Oh yeah and my first appointment took FOUR HOURS. They saw me about 45 mintues after I showed up on time, had to do all the x-rays BY HAND AND DEVELOP THEM, shot electricity through my muscles and put a heating pad on my ass for 15 mintues and THEN got to the back cracking.

I can not wait until I am done with this torture so I never have to go back AND I never have to hear about this mumbo jumbo from my wife again.

You might want to try an inversion table. They are supposed to be a spine's best friend. Just be real careful if you have Acid Reflux Disorder.

Here's the thing... my back doesn't actually hurt. I'm just going through all this to shut my wife up.

Here's a tip...if you are doing the "electricity through your muscles" as part of your visit...don't answer your cell phone. A guy answered his while in that little room...I never heard a scream that sounded quite like that....
