I find it interesting that when we go to the vet and he says that it will cost 6,000 dolalrs for "fluffies" surgery we say - fluffy will have to run away.

However - in Mass this week there was a big thing about "Ian's law". Ian had his insurance cancelled because his insurance wanted to cancel all the "dogs" that were financially killing them.

His company had to reinstate him and cover him the tune of (I think) 3.2 million dollars per year. Now - I ask - at SOME POINT does EVERYONE get to get whatever we can actually do? NO - we cannot ALL each and everyone of us get 3.2 million dollars per year coverage.

The funny thing is (I think) that while it is a private payor system we will mandate this coverage. BUT - once the government takes over we will have committees that set maximums and Ian will be without coverage or have to go to a state run facility (currently he gets total home care).
