Richland Springs won their second consecutive state championship today at Jerry's World by scoring a bundle - 96-50! That's eight state titles for them.

I've seen a couple scores where one team breaks 100, but it's not often.

Back in the day Pflugerville was a real powerhouse in 6-man football. If I remember correctly, they went over 20 years without defeat by 1963 when I watched a game there. Four of those guys played both offense and defense and all of them chewed tobacco while playing. Everyone was still speaking German.

106.9 Shooter FM has the high school games on Bremond just won their 3rd 2A DII in a row. 2A DI Crawford vs Refugio is on now, all playing in Jerry's world.

Jonesboro, small community just north of Goatsville........err, Gatesville, lost in the 1-A Div II Championship Game. Too bad - I know one of the kids who plays on the team.

The high school championships games are being televised on Fox Sports SW(cable channel 318). Right now Crawford and Refugio are tied 13-13 in the 3rd quarter.

Refugio beat Crawford 23-20.
Not sure what other games remain because the local paper/tv stations never say much about teams throughout the state.

The Temple-Highland Park game is tomorrow at noon. The quarterback for Highland Park is the grandson of Jerry Jones.
