October 5, 2014 - Local gun rights activists are not backing down from opposition.
In January of this year, a city of Erie ordinance banning the open carrying of weapons in public parks was deemed unenforceable and unlawful; the victor in that case was Justin Dillon, who was fined for carrying a weapon in Perry Square.
The Second Amendment grants Americans the right to bear arms but Dillon and pro-gun activist Kim Stolfer say political correctness is infringing upon that basic right.
"There's no record of a gun control law ever working and it's time for us to focus where the problem is, on the criminals...the career criminals," said President of Firearms Owners Against Crime (FOAC), "and not on seizing citizens' individual liberties."
