Hall of Game Game, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins, 7PM, Sunday Night Football. Probably be on NBC.
Sure, it's only preseason, but it's football!!!
Cowboys already said Romo probably won't play due to his still recovering from having a cyst removed from his back during the off season.
What a whimp!! :))

I knew I was old a couple of years ago when I realized I was obsessing over Staubach and the glory days. It really hasn't been the same since Jerry Jones took over. :crying

Well, Jerry's already trying to make excuses for a skanky offense...The article in the DMN and todays KDH has him moaning about all of the injuries on his O line. Say what? Don't they still have Doug Free (snark, snark).

This is going to get ugly quick.

Probably can't afford to hire new since he's still paying for Deonne Sanders.

I would be satisfied with Dandy Don and Tom.

That was a good game on TV last night. Cincinnati kicked Atlanta's butt.

Tonight, 9PM, Fox channel 44 - Cowboys vs. Raiders.

CenTexDave
August 10th, 2013, 12:19 PM
First couple of drives looked good except when they got into the red zone and bogged down.
Same as last year.

Same old Romo (I think he has goal-line aversion), although he looked pretty good on throws to Dez.

Yuk. Could the Cowboys just come through one more time before I pass on???? It's on my bucket list.

They did win the game, but it should have been over at halftime.:))

Cowboys vs Arizona is on Fox 44.

CenTexDave

Cowboys look like crap - 5 turnovers in the first half.

sojourner truth
August 17th, 2013, 5:32 PM
Yep...Nobody has figured out yet that you have to hold on to the football till your knee hits the ground, and Romo needs to figure out which team he's passing to.

Pathetic...I went to a garage sale today and there were tons of really nice T shirts and hoodies for sale cheap. Only problem was, they all had Cowboys logos on them..So much for that.

Orton is worthless. If Romo gets hurt during the regular season this team is screwed.

CenTexDave
August 17th, 2013, 6:14 PM
This kid Tanney looks real good at QB. Keep him and dump Orton. :)

CenTexDave

Guess I spoke too soon. LOL
Embarrassing loss. Glad it's only preseason.

Where have I heard that before???

Oh yeah....I've said that. Every year for the last ten years. :banghead

Romo has never been the same after that botched kick a few years ago.

Did you hear about the new Tony Romo cologne?
You wear it, but the other guys score.

CenTexDave
August 19th, 2013, 9:16 AM
Romo puts up very good stats. The team just doesn't win.

Rick
August 19th, 2013, 9:58 AM
There is nothing more worthless than pre-season football.

Just ask the Miami Dolphins tight end who got hurt and is out for the season. All in the name of selling tickets for a fake game.

Pathetic.

Ludwig

Well, injuries occur in scrimmage games and/or training too. It's just part of the game. Pre-season football is just paid scrimmage.

I don't waste my time even watching pre-season, in any sport. Other than injuries, the results are meaningless.

He's the reincarnation of Danny White, but at least White had some playoff wins...

OH, NO!!!! You actually uttered the "DW" words!

But as bad as the suffering was with White, nothing.......NOTHING was as painful as the Craig Morton years.

(Except for the Romo years.)

And nothing was more exciting than Staubach at the helm.

At least Morton was worth something - they dumped him on the Broncos then kicked his butt in the Super Bowl. :))
Dallas has had a lot of worse QB's than Romo, White and even Morton.
Anyone remember Steve Pelleur? That seems to be the start of the downfall of the Boys.
And that Antonio Bryant was another gem. lol
And finally Romo's predecessor - Drew Pearson. :)):)):))

I think you meant Drew Bledsoe because Drew Pearson was only THE greatest wide receiver to wear the Cowboy uniform and especially the #88!!

CenTexDave

Yep, sorry.
Pearson was a great one.
But if I had a choice, I'd take Bullet Bob Hayes.

And what about the great Cowboy tight ends back then? Billy Joe DuPree, Ditka, etc.?

(You know you're old when you start reminiscing about the 1970s Cowboys. Sigh....)

CenTexDave

You could fill an NFL All-Time All-Star Team with Cowboys.
Sure seems they haven't had many of those all-stars lately, except Ware.

I think you can make a strong argument for Jason Whitten.

CenTexDave
August 21st, 2013, 9:24 PM
Yeah, suppose so.
I hope he doesn't slow down any further this year because he'd be jogging backwards.
This new MLB, Sean Lee, looks really good. Hope he stays healthy.

They looked pretty good last night. Let's see what Tony does this year. He had great stats last year so can't blame him entirely for the Cowboy's dismal finish.

We can blame him for the dismal finish of that last game of the season last year...but I agree, he has put up some decent numbers as a starter...just like Danny White! ;)

Rick - you remember growing up in NE Ohio and SOHIO (Standard Oil of Ohio - yes, folks, the original Standard Oil - the one Rockefeller started).
They used to give away a 8x10 glossy every week of Indians' players. Wish I still had all the ones I had - Larry Doby, Bob Feller, Bob Lemon, Early Wynn, Rocky Colavito, Vic Power. Damn - The Tribe used to be good. lol

I remember having a card of Pete Gray once a Toledo Mud Hen. Wish I still had it. I use to watch him practice, he was quite good with only one arm. I think he retired with the Dallas Eagles if I am not mistaken. Oh well that's why they have google I guess. Yep, before your time too Rick :)). I don't know if I'm off topic or not...:?
