The Susan G. Komen foundation is canceling half of its three-day walks in major cities throughout the country, reportedly due to lack of participation.

The walks have been the largest fundraiser for the foundation, which allegedly spends its money to fight breast cancer.

However, Komen also funnels thousands of dollars to Planned Parenthood and refuses to admit the link between abortion and breast cancer. Though the foundation initially attempted to unfund Planned Parenthood last year, it caved to PC pressure and renewed its grants to the abortion giant.

Next year’s walks in Washington DC, San Francisco, Arizona, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland and Tampa Bay have been dropped. The walks will continue in Komen’s home base of Dallas-Ft. Worth, as well as Atlanta, Michigan, Philadelphia, San Diego, Seattle and Minneapolis-St. Paul.

I no longer give money to any group trying to fund research. If I am able, I specify my money to go to things other than research. Because those conducting research aren't really looking for a cure. If they screw up and actually find a cure, then all those folks trying to find a cure have to find another job.

Unfortunately, his opinion is held by many...including me. Just the thought of actually finding a cure for any current disease would mean economic disaster for a whole lot of people.

Just like the guy who finally invents a truly efficient carbon free usage engine...he'd probably wind up dead if he didn't sell the patent to GM or somebody...who would immediately burn the blueprints.

Curing Diabetes or cancer alone would redifine the health care industry. Donate to the shriners hospital or something..at least that money goes to cure someone, and not for some research scientists have a bottomless cornucopia.

It's frustrating that people still die of diseases we have spent years researching, but the profit potential for effective preventions and treatments is enormous. Children and adults in developed countries don't die of tetanus, pertussis, and polio any more. Smallpox has been eradicated. Some cancers are curable today that were a death sentence a few generations ago.

I have Multiple Sclerosis. It is the number one crippler of young adults in the UK. There is an island at the northern end of Scotland wherein everyone on the island either has it personally or it is in their immediate family. There is a massive effort to cure it, worldwide, particularly in northern Europe. But if there ever IS a cure, it'll put a whole lot of people out of work. Unless some of them get into trying to fix the damage already done.

Many more cancers could be cured if there were not a law which mandates that the ONLY methodologies allowed in the treatment of cancer are surgery, radiation, and chemo.

There have been many cases where the body has been allowed to cure itself of cancer, diabetes, tuberculosis and other diseases simply by detoxification and taking mega-doses of, for instance, Vitamin C. However, to get that treatment you have to go to Monterrey, Mexico. The problem is that Medicine is hooked on drugs and that is the result of a run-away pharma industry. aided and abetted by big government.

There have been a number of very successful advances in the fight against cancer. Many types have been all but eliminated when caught early and treated properly. Having lost to cancer a sister at the age of 31, and a mom at the age of 51, my only despair is that they could probably been cured had they been born 20 years later.

I'm sorry for your loss, albeit temporary. They will be there to escort you to Him when your turn comes.

Look at Rheumatoid Arthritis (the arthritis is a bit of a misnomer. In reality, iRhuematic Autoimmune Disease is more effective since it will eat your joints away and eventually invade other body systems.

a quote from the RA warrior website: "The National Databank for Rheumatic Diseases recently described why they found a 6% remission rate while trials of drug companies claim 50% remission (http://www.arthritis-research.org/participate/newsletter/january-2011/how-am-i-doing-how-are-we-doing-it-all-depends) is possible."

It's totally a game of follow the money. I bet there are lots of researchers that truly thing they are looking for ways to cure people or ease their pain, but people in the upper echelons no doubt are just looking to keep the money flowing.
