Someone gave me a packet of Texas Bluebonnet seeds.
Is it too late to plant them???

well, it's too late to just broadcast them on the ground, that's for dammed sure.....but if you give each one of 'em a whack or two across what you believe to be the bottom of the seed with a nail file or emery board or even try to crack some of 'em with a pair of pliars and then leave 'em in a glass of warm water for a day or two and then stick 'em IN the ground they'll come back atcha here in 'bout a month with a vengeance.......mac

It's going to be a disappointing year for wildflowers. We had a great showing of bluebonnets on our land last year, but very few have come up this year. We needed a colder winter as well as much more moisture. You might want to try to grow some from those seeds.

Late Fall rains and hard freezes are both reuired for a good Bluebonnet crop. None in my bed has spouted. So sad.
