View Full Version : Planned Parenthood: 96 years of sex and death

Planned Parenthood Federation of America dates its beginning to Oct. 16, 1916, when Margaret Sanger opened the nation’s first birth control clinic in Brooklyn, New York. Sanger had three basic philosophies that are still active within Planned Parenthood:

1. A desire for uninhibited sexual activity

2. An aversion to large families, which led her to champion birth control — including abortion — to avoid the natural result of sexual activity.

3. A passion to prevent the birth of “defectives,” which led to her stating in her 1932 Plan for Peace that persons from “dysgenic groups” should be given their choice of sterilization or confinement on a farm for the rest of their lives. Sanger was a member of the American Eugenics Society.

For 96 years, Planned Parenthood has been actively spreading these philosophies.

From 1916 to 1965, Planned Parenthood fought to:
have churches accept the use of contraception;
allow sex information to be sent through the mail; and
strike down all the state laws against contraception.
It accomplished all of these goals.

In 1953, Planned Parenthood’s Dr. Lena Levine said that PP had designed its own sex education programs to teach children how to obtain sexual satisfaction before marriage — not to remain abstinent. Teen pregnancy rates skyrocketed. Now, Planned Parenthood is increasing its sex education push and, with the help tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer money, has become the largest provider of sex education in America. Never mind that it doesn’t work. For example: Amarillo, Texas threw Planned Parenthood out five years ago — is now reporting the lowest teen pregnancy rate since records have been kept.

Planned Parenthood, like its founder, still wants everyone (married or not) to have sex. Why? Because Planned Parenthood makes hundreds of millions of dollars a year selling birth control pills and other birth control devices.

The fact that one of the known mechanisms of the pill is to allow fertilization to take place and then to prevent implantation of an already created human being in the womb — thus killing that new human being — was a problem in the 1960s. This was clearly an abortion, which was illegal. The problem was “solved” in 1965 merely by redefining “conception” as implantation in the womb — thus stating that “pregnancy” begins at implantation and “abortion” is the termination of a pregnancy. In one neat set of verbal gymnastics, what was an abortion is no longer called an abortion.

The use of the birth control pill, and similar products, results in the deaths of millions of human beings a year — a death toll that no one counts and few even care about. But each of these deaths is of particular concern to the individual who dies.

Other deaths are counted. In 2010, Planned Parenthood did 27 percent of all the abortions in the United States. It has ended the lives of over 6 million human beings in its own facilities since 1970. And, during that same time, it collected over $6 billion in taxpayer money.

Planned Parenthood does not make public the race of its abortion clients anymore. In the 1990s, it revealed that 43 percent of its abortions were on blacks and other minorities — who only made up 22 percent of the population.

Sex and death — that's the legacy of Planned Parenthood. Fornication and murder accepted as normal — that's the legacy of Planned Parenthood. Black genocide — that's the legacy of Planned Parenthood.

If Planned Parenthood, the organization, doesn’t make it to its 100th anniversary, THAT would be a great legacy for America.

Another point of view:

Planned Parenthood is many things to many people.
We are a trusted health care provider, an informed educator, a passionate advocate, and a global partner helping similar organizations around the world. Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide.
For nearly 100 years, Planned Parenthood has promoted a commonsense approach to women’s health and well-being, based on respect for each individual’s right to make informed, independent decisions about health, sex, and family planning.

Providing Trusted Community Health Care

Planned Parenthood is America’s most trusted provider of reproductive health care. Our skilled health care professionals are dedicated to offering men, women, and teens high-quality, affordable medical care. One in five American women has chosen Planned Parenthood for health care at least once in her life.
The heart of Planned Parenthood is in the local community. Our 74 unique, locally governed affiliates nationwide operate nearly 800 health centers which reflect the diverse needs of their communities.

These health centers provide a wide range of safe, reliable health care — and more than 90 percent is preventive, primary care, which helps prevent unintended pregnancies through contraception, reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections through testing and treatment, and screen for cervical and other cancers. Caring physicians, nurse practitioners, and other staff take time to talk with clients, encouraging them to ask questions in an environment that millions have grown to trust.

Informing and Educating the Community

Planned Parenthood is a respected leader in educating Americans about reproductive and sexual health. We deliver comprehensive and medically accurate information that empowers women, men, teens, and families to make informed choices and lead healthy lives. Planned Parenthood is proud of its vital role in providing young people with honest sexuality and relationship information in classrooms and online to help reduce our nation’s alarmingly high rates of teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. Nearly 1.2 million youths and adults participate in Planned Parenthood educational programs every year.
Leading the Reproductive Health and Rights Movement

On campuses and online, in statehouses and courts, in community settings, and in the media, Planned Parenthood is a visible and passionate advocate for policies that enable Americans to access comprehensive reproductive and sexual health care, education, and information. Whether talking with members of Congress, parents, or faith leaders, or arguing cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, we fight for commonsense policies that promote women’s health, allow individuals to prevent unintended pregnancies through access to affordable contraception, and protect the health of young people by providing them with comprehensive sex education.
Planned Parenthood has more than four million activists, supporters, and donors nationwide. The Planned Parenthood Action Network enables online activists in all 50 states to stay on top of the issues and get involved with campaigns that advance and protect women’s rights and health. Also furthering Planned Parenthood’s mission are several advisory boards and initiatives.
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Fortifying our commitment to protect women’s health, educate teens, and prevent unintended pregnancies, the Action Fund engages in educational and electoral activity, including public education campaigns, grassroots organizing, and legislative advocacy.
Advancing Global Health

For many individuals around the world, access to vital reproductive and sexual health care and information is blocked — by poverty, a lack of basic services, or politics and war. Planned Parenthood works with local partners in Africa and Latin America to overcome these barriers by increasing access to health care and education. We nurture local leadership, foster sustainable health and education programs, and fight for legal, social, and political improvements in communities around the world. Planned Parenthood Global also advocates for sound U.S. foreign policies that improve the sexual and reproductive health and well-being of individuals and families globally.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America is also a founding member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, based in London.

"The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization......".

Then why is it supported with tax payer funds?

For the same reason that tax payer funds go to faith based organizations, I suppose.

Remember the 1000 Points of Light? In order to level the playing field, funding for faith-based organizations was enabled by the first Bush admin. Some secularists found ironic humor in the fact that Farrakhan's neighborhood soup and Black Muslim preachin' kitchens/after school programs got tax money along with nice Protestant and Catholic charities.

Anything from the govt comes with strings, and not every faith-based charity will apply or qualify for funding.
