It's sad that a local student was listed as one who was arrested.

Damn, Tanner Brock from Cove.

Oh well, they only have themselves to blame.

17 drug dealers busted on one campus. Bet they are going after whoever was supplying them.

They have been expelled from the school.
More wasted lives. Brock would have been an NFL player for sure.

He still may be, seeing what the NFL standars are. Sad as it sounds, the league is rife with troublemaking losers, who, just happen to be fantastic ball players. In major league sports ant more, the owners are willing to accept anything as long as it means winning the game. Baseball is about the only sport where the standards are still fairly high.

The news said Brock was charged with selling marijuana. They showed him going to a vehicle with a sweatshirt covering his head.

Absolute idiot.

Drugs and big time college Sports are very common. They will get a slap on the wrist and it's back to balling. Unless its a large quantity of marijuana.

Last I heard, they were dismissed from the team. This means no scholarship, no money, and probably some jail time...Maybe prison. Since TCU is a Christian university, I would imagine expelling them would be a possibility, especially since their scholarships are revoked.

I thought I heard on the teevee news that they have been expelled and ordered off campus by criminal trespass.

I heard that too, but it wasn't confirmed at the time I saw the report. That's ok, The Steelers will draft 'em. If one of the other colleges don't first. Sad but true. Look at Plaxico Burris, Michael Vick, and Pac Man Jones. The fact is that this attitude players get that they are untouchable comes from the fact that the system always bails them out and takes them back. If one team doesn't want them, another will. It is one of the sad facts of life that if you have enough talent, you can get away with murder. Just ask Teddy Kennedy.

As long as the discussion of the use of weed is winked and smiled about this will happen again and again. No one seems to give a damn until someone gets arrested. Brock just happened to get caught. I wish the people toking up in Carl Levin Park will get busted someday.

They are gone. Dismissed from the team. Gary Patterson doesn't play games. They are expelled from the school.
Just glad Josh Boyce wasn't involved.

That's for the government to follow.

Well, if you saw the reports today you will see that an additional 14 people were busted. I suspected as much yesterday when they hauled the dealers off. The first thing that happens at interrogation is that the dealers rat out the buyers. Wonder what kind of "deal" they got?

Thinking also ..................... Why is the phrase always "innocent until proven guilty" instead of "innocent unless proven guilty"?

While this does not excuse these boys actions, NCAA rules concerning student atheletes on scholarship tend to lead to some of this. Many of these students come from dirt poor families and while they have a full ride scholarship, they literally don't have enough money to buy a soda at the bookstore or take their girlfriend to a movie. With practice schedules, classes, etc. it is really hard for many of these student atheletes to get jobs and then there are rules about who can hire them due to issues with athletic boosters.

I will agree with you on this but it was reported in Brock's arrest affidavit that he, himself, sold marijuana to an undercover officer at least three times. It's hard to not prove that.

Wow...not sure how to respond to this...I don't know any of the students personally...and I only just know of Brock since he played at cove and has a father who coaches there...still, don't know how to respond to this...

Oh I don't disagree that he probably is guilty but until a judge or jury makes the determination he is innocent and is just accused. There have been many cases where law enforcement doctored evidence.

The Steelers will draft him??? Don't you mean Jerry Jones will draft him. Michael Vick and Pac Man Jones never played for the Steelers and Plaxico got in trouble after he left the team. The last time I counted the Cowboys had more criminals employed than the Philadelphia Eagles.

who ever said that? heck, it don't even make sense. being proved and or found guilty doesn't change the fact of whether you're guilty or not....what's this "innocent until proven guilty" all about? where'd that come from?.....the constitution maybe?.....the declaration of independence? the KJV? I do know that in the eyes of the law a person is not guilty until found guilty but that's just a technical thing....has more to do with jargon and semantics than fact.....hells bells, even the highest court in the nation can't find a man "innocent"......mac

Rita's right, of course. I've never seen a guy like Jones to do dumb stuff when it comes to hiring someone he thinks will give them an edge. There are a lot of players he picked up I will never understand. Dieon Sanders being the biggest wonder for me. Flozell, who cost them more yards in penalties than anyone in recent memory. Terrell Owens...Need I say more.
