The hit that Carl Edwards too into the wall was one of the hardest, most brutal hits I have ever seen. I hate the way that car races, but you can't argue with the safety aspect of them.

Keselowski did what he had to do to get his first win. I don't mind Edwards getting wrecked, but I got scared when his car took off like it did. Scary!

I'll post the Youtube video as soon as I can find it.

Can't confirm this yet, but I read on a NASCAR forum that eight people in the stands were injured. The most serious with a broken jaw. I am not surprised, it looked like some debris went through the fence when the car slammed up against it.

Talladega is a dangerous track. A friend and I went to a race there back about 9 years ago. Didn't realize it, but when the race was over and we left our entire faces were covered with black soot and rubber from the tires! Quite a site when we went into a convenience store a few miles from the track to get gas and a couple of sodas.

NASCAR confirmed the injuries to the fans.

Eight fans are injured in last-lap crash at Talladega (http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/headlines/cup/04/26/post.race.fans.injured.talladega.cedwards/index.html)

Unbelievable that Edwards got out of the car and ran to the finish line. He wanted to finish the race...LOL
