Blame the economy and the gentle goat.

OK Owl, here's todays Texas jab. "Texas, where the men are men and the sheep are nervous".

I want to see a 245 lb. goat in Texas. The connoisseur of cabrito is in jail but not for his fine BBQ. It may be hard to prove the goat rustling.

What I'd like to see is a goat that's worth $14.28 a pound before being dressed out. Now that has to be some really good meat. Why am I investing in gold? Maybe he had golden fleece. Oh, thats sheep though, isn't it.

I think angora goats have fleece. I also think that there's some fleecing going on. :))

The high price of the goat could also be because it may be a rare breed or a champion of its breed. But 245 lb.!?

I kinda thought there ought to be a decimal point between the four and five. 245 lbs of one goat sounds like it ought be cooking for a fair portion of the day.

To bad the article didn't state what type of goat it was. There are several breeds that can weigh up to 300 lbs.

The average weight of a goat is 60-100 lbs. Mature Boer goats can weigh up to 300 lbs. but this goat was only 7 months old.
