We had to bring our old lab in this week with a huge sore on his chin/neck area. He was diagnosed with a large hot spot that got infected. With the meds and the spray he looks so much better already. He loves to swim and we take him out to Stillhouse to do so. My question, should we wait until we had the follow-up appt. before we take him to the lake again?

It's best the keep the area dry and allow it to heal first. The moisture could start the infection back up and you'll be back to square one. Once the hot spot has resolved then it's back to the fun.

Thanks Dr. Buckley,
we most certainly do not want to go backwards. Picasso will then be back to your office next week:). Thanks for the good care you and your staff give to our babies. We appreciate it very much.

I do, too. Of course our old boy Picasso walks in tail wagging, happy to see anyone who will pay attention to him, whereas Gunner only wags his tail until he sees Dr. S. .....then his happiness turns to a deep growl and its time to muzzle him. Brat!!

Thank you Dr. Jones for taking such good care of our old boy Picasso. He is good as new and can go back to the lake for his favorite activity....swimming. Happy Thanksgiving to all at Killeen Veterinary Clinic.
