In the hopes of helping support local farms and ranches in this area, I would like to keep an open thread here for the location of any and all farmer's markets in the Bell or Coryell county areas.

There has already been mention of a farmer's market under construction in Downtown Killeen (http://www.centextalk.com/vb/showthread.php?10726). This is good, but I suspect there are several smaller ones in the area, and very few people know where they are.

I'm not up on it's current status, but there was one at the parking lot of VFW Post 8577 in Cove. Dave would be the one with more info on that one.

They should be up and running in mid-May or so. Usually sell on Saturday mornings from 9AM - 2/3PM and on Mondays from 3-6PM. Gotta get there early though because they sell out quick.

Whatever happened to that awesome butterfly exhibit?

Shot down by the former City Manager that the city spent $750,000 to get him to leave.

The pavillion that the City of Killeen is building will be opening soon. It is for a farmers market.

The butterfly garden that the COK has planned is an outside landscaping project near the Downtown Performing Arts Complex. It is not an exhibit just landscaping.

Dont' mind the boys they're just having fun at my expense. ::)

Anyone know where the pavilion will be located?

BTW: If you enjoy Farmer's Markets, there is an outstanding one in Dallas. Be prepared to spend hours there when produce comes in season. The last time I went I wished I owned a pickup truck.

I was trying to figure out if it was sad that I didn't know, or sad that I asked. :)
