I find it interesting that women first entered auto racing at the fringes. Shirley Muldowney started her career in a field of racing where not many men seem to go AND did it almost 30 years ago. That there aren't more women in racing today...

Gee...NO mention of female racers from other countries who've done well behind the wheel, like rally drivers Pat Moss (sister of Stirling Moss, himself a driver of note!) and Michele Mouton.
