I had a very rocky relationship with my biological mother. My Dad was my rock and he wasn't perfect, but he did his best. I miss him still and he's been gone for 20 years.

Here is where our life experiences differ. My "Dad" was killed when I was but one year old. Not ever having known him, there's no way I can miss him. I never understood "Father" was until I became one.

We went to Fort Worth to see the kids today. It was my son's first Father's Day. His wife broke her ankle last weekend when someone in a self defense class fell on her. She had surgery last Sunday, so she is laid up for a while.

He has his hands full with a five month old baby and a wife who can't walk.

I'm finally starting to be able to use my arm some, so my wife will go up to help them out for a few days. Probably next week.
