Exclamation Morgan Shepherd battling Parkinson?s Disease

    November 23, 2020 at 3:02 PM

As we come to a close of 2020, it truly has been a challenging year to many, and for Morgan Shepherd, it is no different. For the first time in 52 consecutive years, Morgan did not participate in any of NASCAR?s three Series. Morgan was in a battle of a different sorts in the challenging 2020 year. After a long year of health issues, Morgan has been diagnosed with the early stages of Parkinson?s Disease.

However, in true Shepherd fashion, he is determined to look into 2021 and make plans for another year of NASCAR racing, as a Car Owner. We all have had challenges to overcome and Morgan has always wanted to be an encourager, defying his age in physical and mental ability. Morgan?s charity work with the physically challenged has inspired him in the toughest times and currently continues in his diagnosis.

Seem to remember that when he WAS racing in recent years, his car's "sponsor" was something like "Racing For Jesus" or some similar group name.

wasn't morgan the driver that got out of his car during a red or black flag stop several years ago and started to work on a fender.....a big big no-no?

Sterling Marlin did that. That was funny as hell. Even my wife laughed at that one.

2002 Daytona 500. Race stopped to clean after "the big one". Marlin was actually in the lead when the red flag fell, but he got out, looked at the right front fender, and started pulling it away from the tire...even the broadcast team in the booth was shocked...
He was penalized when the race went back to yellow, then green (last car on the lead lap).
Ward Burton wound up winning that race.
Sterling Marlin MIGHT have been a THREE-time winner of the Daytona 500 if only he had stayed in his car...
