Clear Creek back to 18 holes

Hard to imagine it has been 20 years since Clear Creek reopened as a 27 hole golf course. As of 1 October the "newest 9", Panther Claw will be closed down. I remember the day Leon LaPote toddled up to the green tee, hit his yellow ball off of Armadillo 1, and proclaimed the course open. They even put a plaque in 1 fairway. Oh well, the only constant is change, and yes, irrigation and maintenance are expensive. Play is way down and it cant be al blamed on covid, this has been a couple years in the making I am told.

I remember playing on the other 18 hole course when it was still there.
There was one tee, can't remember which one, but I sliced a yellow ball into a field of dandelions. Took a drop.
The next time I teed up on that hole, I used a white ball, and sliced it into the field of dandelions, and they were seeded out. Took a drop.
I played quite a bit at Clear Creek too.
I have not played since I got back to Rucker, though, and that was in 2009. I got into road cycling.
