Well, the problem stems at the base of higher education anyhow. The number of conservative professors hired in ratio with liberal hires is getting ever larger in favor of the liberals. No wonder the kids are spouting off all the socialist pap they are. Socialists rely on academics to guide and control the populace anyhow. That and a hand picked select few who run things.

My dad used to call socialism "trickle up misery"... Sort of makes sense when you look at the countries that have given in to its demands. More like trickle up poverty for the masses and riches for a handful of select prosperous. Want a nice Dacha on the Baltic, get a party leadership job if you can land one.

Do they even teach basic economics in high school any more? I remember being bored to tears, but learned, Learned civics, too. Learned a lot at the various places I called home growing up. Then again - it's what we choose to learn that matters. Nowadays, everyone has a degree from Google University because someone in their "echo chamber" put out a line of crap, and they bought it hook, line, and sinker. It's gotten to where people simply cannot think for themselves. Way past 1984 standards of "groupthink". There is a conspiracy theory for everything, no one is to blame for the consequences of their bad choices, and everyone thinks government will fix everything. On both the right and left.

Two very valuable quotes keep me thinking: 1. "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines.".....Ralph Waldo Emerson; and
    2. "There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance—that principle is contempt prior to investigation."
    .....Herbert Spencer,

Remember back before the internet where we thought people were stupid because of the lack of access to information?
    Yeah, it wasn't that. . .

It's getting more bizarre as time passes--now there are a group of Ford Motor Company employees who are requesting that their employer STOP building vehicles for law enforcement use!!!
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news...es/ar-BB16xik8

    Excerpt:

The letter, which tipsters revealed to Jalopnik, was reportedly written by a group of employees who are concerned about Ford's cozy relationship with U.S. law enforcement agencies. It comes in the wake of a message delivered to company employees in early June calling for employees to come forward with suggestions for addressing racial and social injustice.

"There is no doubt that the weight of these challenges disproportionately fall on the black community," Ford CEO Jim Hackett and Chairman Bill Ford, Jr., said. "We have seen this disparity among our own Ford team members affected by COVID-19, and the legacy of economic disparities in our own home city of Detroit. It is pain that many of our team members have long felt in their daily lives."

"There are no easy answers. We are not interested in superficial actions. This is our moment to lead from the front and fully commit to creating the fair, just and inclusive culture that our employees deserve," Ford and Hackett said, promising initiatives aimed at helping employees feel heard and acknowledged.

Ford supplies the overwhelming majority of police-spec vehicles to American agencies at virtually every level of government. Hackett has reportedly said that Ford executives have no plans to change that. The company has also stressed that The Ford Foundation, which contributes to the Black Lives Matter movement, is not affiliated with the company, despite some recent reports to the contrary. Its philanthropic arm is the Ford Motor Company Fund.

NYPD is getting a million cut from its budget.. Or was it a billion. The CC has decided to relocate that money into social programs throughout the community. Like that is going to work. Do these people not have a brain or common sense. You cannot keep a city that large safe without active police on the ground and responding to threats. Reminds me of that Sly Stallone movie where he is unfrozen in the future and the cops are all creampuffs and only retrobates even know what violence is.

Wrap them in marshmallows and float them down to the jail for retraining. That will work. But who will apply the marshmallow? NYPD officers are retiring and fleeing the force in droves. Serves the CC right. Can't wait until the first protesters show up on Deblasios doorstep wanting to string him up. What a joke of a mayor. But, people get what they vote for.
Read an article yesterday about how NYC has limited the number of PD employees who can drop their retirement papers per month due to a 400% increase in request for retirements over the past month. It seems that NYPD doesn't have the manpower to process all of the retirement papers now being dropped by eligible employees and they have no overtime to pay the HR personnel they do have.

Also saw that NYC and Mayor de Blasio, with the help of good old race hustler Al Sharpton just gave President Trump the middle finger by painting a huge BLM mural on the street right in front of Trump Tower. Shows you just how petty the Democrats are.

Also saw that de Blasio and fellow libtard Governor Cuomo pretty much hate each other's guts due to a variety of reasons. I say put them in a cage match and let them fight to the death; with any luck we can rid 2 socialists at once.

de Blasio has also said he will allow the protests to march in the streets, but will not allow any other large gatherings, to include other parades.

Just watched some video of a guy spray painting graffiti on a NPD police precinct building. Cops have been told not to arrest vandals. And even if they di with the no bail deal that idiot Deblasio has in place, they will be back out on the streets as soon as they hit the police station.

I suppose the next thing we will hear is how this guy was a budding young artist, practicing his street skills on an available canvas of concrete.

I am amazed at New Yorkers and how they could elect people like Bumbling Bill and AOC... Must be something in the water.

worse than that, Sojourner. If you look at it again next time it comes up, you'll see NY's finest, at least a squad of them standin' by watchin! They were ordered to 'let it be'.....mac

Well, it's like Swimmer said... Put Deblasio and Cuomo in a box and let them fight. There would be enough crap left over to fertilize every tomato field in New jersey with crap left over.

I would love, personally, to see a city ban its police force and then sit back and watch what happens... I mean, it would be a patent example of what happens when mob rule is allowed to take force inside a cities limits.

Like I said, NY has a tendency to try and out-California California in who it elects.

On another humorous note, take notice of all the criticism Fla. and Texas are getting because of all the virus increase, but not California. Evidently they are immune from media criticism. And they have bigger gains than either of the other 2.

NBC evening news did it again tonight.. Highlighted all of the cases of CV 19 in Texas, Florida, and Arizona and then totally ignoring the big dog in the house, California.

What has been trending is a story of a LA Latino youth who was shot 5 times in the back when running from police with a gun in his hand. I suppose the biggest problem they have is that the perp didn't fire at the cops first. I suppose that will be one of the changes liberal California makes if they still have a police force after all of this. Evidently, it isn't enough to point a gun at a cop any more... One has to actually fire it and hit something before police are allowed to respond. What a crock.
