As expected, NASCAR considering midweek races when racing resumes
March 25, 2020 at 6:52 PM
Assuming that no additional events will need to be canceled before NASCAR returns to racing, the sanctioning body will need to make up seven races (Atlanta, Homestead, Texas, Bristol, Richmond, Talladega, Dover) to complete the full 2020 NASCAR Cup schedule.
As expected, reports are that NASCAR is talking to teams about midweek races and holding two races at some tracks on the same weekend.
The owners I spoke to also indicated that tentative talks from NASCAR are that when racing resumes, there will be some midweek racing — so like, a Cup race Wednesday and a Cup race Sunday. Places that have two races and had one postponed may run 2 races in 1 weekend.

Tracks that would potentially be hosting two Cup races in one weekend: Texas, Bristol, Richmond, Talladega and Dover.

So, what are they going to do if one of the races is a Chase race...

If a track like Texas hosts two races, one of them a Chase race, then does the first one count towards the Chase points before the Chase?

Sadly Rick, what you say doesn't count... NA$CAR will find a way to screw things up...

At this point, i will welcome NASCAR with open arms. While it has been fun with the TV off the majority of the day while Antenne Bayern streams, I really do miss my sports.

No, there is no more "chase", except for Chase Elliott.
What used to be called the chase is now called the playoffs.
