We watch these guys week after week for years and with the access that this sport affords, we feel like we know these guys. Newman is a hard charging fierce competitor. Always has been and always will be. That's one of the reasons he is so respected in the sport.
The wreck was not the fault of anyone. NASCAR has made great advances in safety. There is nothing that can prevent everything and getting hit, upside down in the driver window at 200 mph is just something that confirms that steel machines traveling at 200 mph is just inherently dangerous in a dangerous sport.
