Everybody keeps saying that. I'm running out of room to put ammo boxes. Not to mention a handgun for every room. With other stuff stashed...everywhere.

I have rounds of loose ammo in a couple kitchen drawers. My car, my tool box, and in the couch cushions.

Sometimes I think my dog might be packing heat because the cat definitely is. She's a pretty serious animal and my dog kinda feels outgunned.
    Buy Rifles. Black Rifles.
And magazines. 10 for each rifle,
You should have 4 for each pistol.

Then start insuring that anyone you know to be on your side is well supplied.
I bought a case of deer rifle ammo for the guy who married my grand daughter.

Then, if you guys were somewhere like AR, you could be caching guns and ammo.

But, before you have too many guns,
be sure to lay in a good store of food, fuel and medicine.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

I have most of the components of a complete mini water treatment plant.
I need a couple barrels and some connecting pipes, and I should be able to
treat 50 or so gallons after each rain, and a dozen gallons a day between rains.

Since it rains here fairly often, and I am a quarter mile from a small river,
    that should be sufficient.

Not only does it rain here regularly, but I have not heard "welcome to the great place" since I left Central Texas. Instead I hear "have a blessed day" and "God bless you" regularly. And the local BBQ place has a discount for veterans, but they don't need to see any kind of ID. The waitress says "That is between you and Jesus."

    I have found America.

Well, one of the things I have noticed around here is how folks will go out of their way to say thank you for your service when they discover you are former military... Which, around here, includes just about everybody.

We were eating breakfast at Papas one morning and saw a group of Sergeants Major eating together, and one of them, a woman, got up and came to our table. Having seen my VN vet hat, she just wanted to say thanks for serving. I then told her my wife was also a vet, and likewise a retired Sergeant Major, and she was flabbergasted. I guess that lady SGMs are a rare breed, even in to days Army. The lady paid for our breakfast before we even knew they were leaving.

Most places have folks that say "Have a blessed day" when you check out. That is always nice too.

I had a guy at a restaurant in New Braunfels thank me for my service when I pulled out my USAA Visa to pay for my meal. Turns out his dad was in the Army and he knew all about USAA. Besides, he said, I looked like I had been a soldier. Made me feel good.

Chipotles here in Barstow gives veterans and service members 50 percent off everything on the menu every day. Nothing like discounted food while on TDY...I mean great they honor service....
