Exclamation NASCAR updates rule book to clarify race disqualifications

Following Ross Chastain’s Gander Outdoors Truck Series race disqualification at Iowa, NASCAR issued a rule book update Wednesday to clarify that any L1 or L2 penalty in post race inspection would result in a disqualification.

In race accident damage can be considered by NASCAR when a vehicle fails post-race inspection.

NASCAR issued an update to its DQ language in the rulebook today. Basically it removes any ambiguity about whether an L1/L2 penalty will trigger a DQ (it will) and also says race damage will be considered (but only if accident-caused). pic.twitter.com/EfFFQA78IK

All the driver has to do is back the thing into the wall after a win. Just ask the 48.

Well now, given what's happened at some rNASCAR races in the past, what if the winning driver did something to piss off another driver during the race, and during the final lap or even a cooldown lap, that driver did something "in retribution" to the winning driver's car, like hit it hard enough to cause body damage.

"My racecar was perfectly legal BEFORE the race ended. The 'roof height infraction" was solely due to that other driver trying to use his removed helmet to try to enter my car.after I did my Victory Burnout..that's right, he hit the roof enough times for the roof to be too high..."
