DC
Whoop! In May my son graduates from A&M and to celebrate I am taking him to DC in June. This is a trip the both of us have wanted to take for a long time so we are super excited.
I have already requested a tour of the White House, Capitol and FBI. Aside from all the monuments and museums, any other suggestions on things to do and places to eat?
VOTE Rainwater and Snyder!!

Have lunch at the White House - I read that McDonalds delivers.

Both Smithsonian museums--the 'regular' and the Air & Space Museum.
Maybe the Zoo. Used to be "big" when I was a kid, due to the pandas and the original 'Smokey Bear'. Think all three have since died.

I enjoyed the Treasury tour. The Smithsonian Air and Space is awesome as well as the museum with the Whales in it.

My wife was stationed there for 3 years and loved the Lincoln memorial and reflecting pool and the Washington monument...
I have always wanted to see the cherry blossoms along the Potomac in spring. I hear it is beautiful.

The point is, there are so many wonderful things to see, it takes more than a few days to even get around to half of them.
My dream trip is to visit Gettysburg and take a few days to see more than the canned tours they provide.
I hope you both have a great time. It is quality time for bonding, and very educational... Just stay away from congress.. AT least if you are carrying any money.

While I was in the Boy Scouts, Troop 82, Wall, NJ, I had the privilege to spend many a weekend over the years at Gettysburg as well as Valley Forge. Got the Frozen Nose 'n, Toes Award for winter camping. Neat places and go in the Spring.
