And that regular season schedule was before Baylor and Utah were good. I realize most powerhouse teams play a patsy or two during the regular season, but the Cougars played 12 of them.
And went 24-0 for two years before losing to UCLA......a precursor to Boise State in their hey day....

Brigham Yung did put out plenty good QBs back then. Ty Detmer even won the Heisman.

New category... Anyone who won a game gets to play in a bowl game this year.

Comments on some of these bowl games:
Oregon and Michigan State must have been the worst bowl game ever. Just shows that mediocre teams with 7-5, 6-6 records don't belong in a bowl game.
Congrats to Texas in beating Georgia and winning the Sugar Bowl. Same to Ohio State in winning the Rose Bowl. Just shows the SEC is not the only conference
that has good teams.

And thank God that LSU beat UCF and we don't have to listen to UCF fans for a second year claiming they are national champs.

TCU-Cal went to OT, final score 10-7. That was a stinker too. Little sad Penn State couldn't beat Kentucky, but oh well. Texas was awesome last night, a lot of fun to watch that, especially seeing the huge Georgia lines struggling with little Texas. I too was waiting to see if LSU would beat UCF. But for Houston and UNT, Texas teams did pretty well in bowl games. With all the bowl games, 6 wins and your in. Isnt the high school playoffs just as bad? teams with 2 wins making district or something like that...
