Just posted the above score real quick. Cleveland pitchers combined for a one hitter. Plesac pitched three before the monsoon came and delayed the game for 2+ hours. Mercado hit another HR. We are now 5 back and seem to be gaining momentum. This worries from April, May and early June about this team not hitting are out the window now.

They still need to get some consistency before I am confident that they'll go far. But I do like their look the past few weeks.
They have cut the lead that Minnesota had.
Think about it, it wasn't that long ago that the Twins had a 12 game lead on the Tribe.

Kluber's rehab seems to be progessing well. He's scheduled to throw 60 pitches today or tomorrow. Salazar is at AA Akron and has looked good. If those two can come back and be successful I think the Tribe will overtake the Twins.

Plesac has nine starts and has five pick-offs at first base. He is like a snake with his move to first.

He leads MLB in pick-offs. Definitely has a future with the Tribe - him and Bieber. Clevinger is just rounding into form. Airhead Bauer needs to quit giving up HRs in the 1st and 2nd inning and he'll be fine.
Interesting dilemma if Kluber, Carrasco and/or Salazar make it back. Besides Plutko, who goes? Might want to consider Salazar in a relief role - set-up or closer.

He sure was. 12 strikeouts. Lindor was the DH. Hope he isn't hurt.
They've homered in ten straight games. Lindor hit one last night.

Lindor just got the night off from playing SS. Freeman needs to play more - good infielder and good bat. Although Kipnis is playing better this year, Freeman's bat is better.
If Clevinger could learn to get his pitch count down he could go 8 innings. I seriously thought he was gonna K 15-16 last night, and probably would have if he wasn't pulled after 6 due to high pitch count.
