Slowly coming back online
I can access the forum through Tapatalk, but not yet through a browser. It might be a caching issue.
I haven't looked at how many messages may have been lost yet.
I'll explain what the hosting company did too screw it up when I get full functionality restored.

What bothered me too was that I had no way to let you all know. The error page said to contact the webmaster, but the command they entered deleted all email accounts, so those emails wouldn't have had anywhere to go. Even if I had used another email address like gmail, the config file that lists the address was deleted too.
You might want to keep a copy of the list of email addresses on a local machine.
I know I don't have a problem with you having my email address, and I am sure none of the others do either. You could set up a mail drop for forum use only, so that sending out a notice to us wouldn't clog up your personal mail system. I have something like that set up for all of the guys I care about on other forums. Here I only have about 3 or 4 email addresses of other members.
(Come to think of it, there are only 3 or 4 people I care about on other forums too )
I don't mind being called far right.
I have been right so far.

Looks like we lost just over a full day's postings.
The last posting, pre-crash, appears to be around 6:15pm on the 20th,
and my log shows I posted a few times on the morning of the 21st.
Fortunately, I still have one of the more involved updates that I did.
I kept it, because I did a pretty involved edit, and it refused to save it.
The "activity" button on the menu brings up postings from the last few
days before the "crash" but it doesn't look like all of them are there.
Was the old host losing some posts before the "crash"?

I have been right so far.

No, they estimated that the last back-up was 14-36 hours before the wipe occurred. So it looks like our last back-up was done about 22 hours before they screwed up.

No mac, it wasn't your fault, this time. the person who always wanted people tossed is gone.
There were some technical issues and it was totally the hosting services fault. The entire site disappeared, database and all for a few days Not only for us, but for thousands of other sites that this company, MDDhosting.com hosts. According to their excuse, their most advanced tech meant to trim the unwanted files from the storage drives, but instead, deleted ALL files.
What is most unbelievable is that someone actually put up a GoFundMe account for the host. I guess they wanted to reward incompetence.
They got it restored this morning and it looks like we only lost messages from late Thursday and all of Friday's.
But we are back!

Never mind, the "activity" button is working again, as it should.

Thousands of sites.
Over 24 hours of work per site.
That amounts to a hell of a lot of loss.
