    We live in different worlds...

Last week, Kevin Durant donated $3 million dollars to UT for basketball "upgrades".....Yesterday, two psychologists, Julia Hickman and Cecil Reynolds, members of the Longhorn Foundation, pledged $20 million dollars for a future student-athlete health center. The couple goes to every home and away game for the Lady Longhorns basketball team, and the couple spent part of last summer traveling with the Longhorn team through Italy as the team was playing exhibitions...

Some alumni/benefactors DO donate to educational facilities on college campuses. They're often science or engineering-related (some grad who made it big in his chosen career field with his own multi-million dollar business, donating to the alma mater as "thanks for the education you've provided me", and the opportunity to have his/her name on a building on campus.

Oilman T. Boone Pickens, for example, has donated close to a BILLION DOLLARS to Oklahome State University, with about 2/3 of it going to athletics (the rest to scholarship endowments and pay incentives for faculty members?) He's also donated to the YMCA in Dallas, and to cancer treatment facilities there.

Add Bill and Melinda Gates, Michael Dell, the list goes on. Congratulations to them for their charity work. A good life for them, and a much better life for those who receive their largesse. This is what Christian Charity is all about (okay - you got me - Dell is a Jew - but you know what I mean).
