The Browns' higher draft picks have been poor for sure, and it's been that way ever since they returned to the NFL. Couch might have been good, but he was thrown into action early behind a worthless OL and was frequently
banged up and never recovered. Courtney Brown, DE out of Penn State, was good, but injuries forced him to retire after a couple of injury plagued seasons. Gerard Warren was a good DT who got the hell out of Cleveland as soon
as his rookie contract was up. Their fourth first round pick, William Green, RB out of Boston College, was about a waste along the lines of Trent Richardson. And so it went. Bad choices at QB. LB Barkivius Mingo out of LSU was another
waste. Then came that DB out of Oklahoma State, forget his name. #1 round pick who sat on his butt for 3 years until the Clowns cut him. Makes Browns' fans wonder who evaluates these players prior to the draft. Then jokes of signings of some real piss poor free agents - namely that WR Kenny Britt from the Rams. They let WR Terrelle Pryor leave so sign Britt. Bad move. Gone now is Sashi Brown - GM who tried to play "Moneyball". New GM is trying. A good draft last year. If they can hit on it this year they may turn this mess around. They still need help in a few areas - OL. Joe Thomas nearing the end of his career. Get an OT and OG in the draft - one that you know will perform well. Of course need a QB. Another WR wouldn't hurt. On defense need another good LB and help in the DB. They have a ton in salary cap space. Hit this draft and in two years they will start making their mark. The key will be who they select at QB. Obviously this DeShone Kizer is not the answer. Why they would draft him is a mystery - even his head coach at Notre Dame said he wasn't ready for the NFL. No more "projects" - get an NFL ready caliber player.
