Was listening to 1660AMand they were talking about the decline of the Waco lions and ther rise of Midway.As i understood it, it had to do with people not buying, well all th new people are buying into the MISD and not WISD any more. That is why the long time coach of the Lions retired. I think that's right.

Johnny Tusa was the Waco Lions head coach for many years. He saw what was starting to take place - Hewitt and growing leaps and bounds and families leaving Waco and moving to Hewitt.
Tusa followed one of his old time buddies (forget his name - was Temple's head coach forever and he saw the same thing happening in Temple) into retirement.
Of course, many also suspect those two retired because Jack Welch started turning Cove's program around and started kicking their butts.

Bob McQueen was the long-serving head coach at Temple. Think he actually lived in Belton, and his son played for BHS.

Belton over Cove tonight by 10, their playoff spot is wrapped up but I’m sure they want to play well heading into the playoffs.

Killeen-Heights should be really good, they go hard at each other anyway and obviously now there’s a lot at stake. Roos have more momentum so I take them by 3.
