I had one of the header springs break when I was in Killeen, and wouldn't you know it - I was at NTC. Mama was resourceful enough to call Overhead Doors, and for around 75 bucks, they fixed it. I have seen videos of some shadetree guy trying to wind that puppy up not knowing what he's doing. It can make a mess of things if it's not done correctly.
I wonder why they don't do the parallel springs any more?
Having had one of those parallel springs break once, I think I know why they aren't used any more. If a headboard spring breaks it generally just unwinds on its mounting pole rather than taking an excursion around the garage.

I elected to remove the door entirely in favor of creating 400 feet of climate controlled usable space.

I used to have one of those when I was a kid... It is called a carport. My old man converted it into 2 bedrooms as an add on to the house as he had 4 kids in a 3 bedroom house.

And, ... that should come as no surprise.
I don't mind being called far right.
I have been right so far.
