Told you before - get a Liftmaster.

LiftMaster with belt drive are good units.

Trying to get a better picture here:

You originally said you couldn't get the outside control box to sync, but didn't know how to disassemble it.

I assume it is mounted next to the garage door?
I recall some of the older ones (I studied this in the 70's) had just a key pad on the outside, and the real electronic module was on the inside, like a wired door bell.

Should I also assume you have a remote in your vehicle that works, or no?
I don't mind being called far right.
I have been right so far.

Unless there's another battery somewhere else, this one has no battery in it to replace. Any other ideas?
Did you replace the 9V battery in the outside key pad?

Yes, that was my first step. However, the outside key pad just doesn't seem to want to synch with the main unit. The brands are the same, and by the yellowing of the keypad, I assume its the original one.

Maybe just separately purchase a new outside key pad.
Don't know what to tell you.

Call JP Brown to come fix it. I hear Dave highly recommends her.
