i guess the only one on here I know about is the Salt Lick, and they're right.....that's some great chow and atmosphere......and of course Louies is good too. I've been to the Franklin one 3 or 4 times but I just ain't waitin' in that kind of line for any chow......no matter how good it might be....mac

The Salt Lick in Driftwood is a cash only place. Stanley's in Tyler is great. They had the Texas HOG rally there a couple of years ago in Tyler. I really like the city and Stanley's was one of the must eat while here places the locals were talking about, very good BBQ. There isn't a bad place on that list.

Makes me wonder if the person who wrote the story is even in Texas. She spelled Lockhart wrong. We tried several of the "famous" BBQ places in LockHART and Luling and were not impressed at all. I agree with the Salt Lick in Driftwood. It is absolutely fantastic.

Any BBQ road trip that doesn't include Cooper's in Llano is not correct.

Why bother with going to the Kreuz Market in Bryan if the original is still in Lockhart? Second and later locations are rarely as good as the 'original'.
