    Boat cleanup day

Since I missed the past few seasons recovering from shoulder surgery, I'm going to hit the lake this year for sure. So I pulled the boat out and started cleaning it up.

Nice rig...a Nitro with an Evinrude... What do you usually fish for, Rick?

It's nothing to be jealous of. The pictures look better than it is.

I bought it on Ebay (yes Ebay) about ten years ago from a couple in Dallas. I won the auction at $3,500. They replaced the engine when the auto fuel mixer failed and burnt the engine up. So they took that auto mixer out, which means I have to mix the two stroke oil when I fill it up. But at least I know it's done right.

It's a good size engine for this boat and does about 45 mph which is plenty of speed for a boat this size.

After sitting in my equipment barn for two years, it started right up yesterday.

    It's a good dependable boat.

I like going to Inks Lake state park. The lake is kept at an even level and I love it when the white bass are hitting.

Advice to owner... Look in the cooler for possible Bud Lites that may have been missed when storing aforementioned boat.

So, I decided to work on the boat. I installed new carpet and used rubbing and polishing compounds and brought the finish back to life.

I ordered new stickers for the engine cover and will sand that down and paint it when they come in.

It was a lot of work, but very much worth it.

Next project.... Put boat in water, put bait on hook, pop top off of beer, fish. The latter is optional.
