The Ax will say it's not America who's having a birthday. Just the U.S. part. Enjoy the day... U.S.A.

I hope in 10 years we can again say "Happy Birthday".
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

well, actually I would prob'ly say that all of North America celebrates our independence. They would be in a fine kettle of fish if we weren't who and what we are......but, there's a sad part too.
Thousands, if not millions of our brethren, mostly in our urban areas, don't have a clue as to what and why the rest of us are celebrating, they do not know what the Declaration of Independence or who Thomas Jefferson is. Hell, they don't even know, or maybe even care, what the Constitution is. Listen to a "man on the street" interview a time or two and we laugh, but...... it's really a downer....mac

And the Ax would say, "No Way!" Don't you know that North Americas includes (23) countries and dozens of possessions and territories. It contains all Caribbean and Central America countries, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, the United States of America, as well as Greenland and most of them don't GAS about the 4th of July.

They are products of the government indoctrination system which is commonly called public education. What else would you expect? Yes, it's a crying shame, but it is what it is.

No.....I do NOT believe that? How in the hell could I believe that, I have a map, after all. AND I am not nor have I ever been a 2nd Lieutenant (some of you "uninitiated" won't understand that but don't worry 'bout it 'cause if you don't, it won't mean anything to you anyway.
Anyway, back to the original reason for this post: the North American Continent consists ONLY of the Nations of Canada, USA and Mexico. danger!
Central America is an Isthmus and an isthmus is a narrow strip of land that connects 2 continents, such as N and S America, or islands. North American does NOT contain ANY of the caribbean, or the Caribbean Sea let alone your "all Caribbean....countries"....but, the Carribean Sea does contain many possessions, Nations and territories of several Nations. check!
North America does NOT contain Greenland. North America is NOT a Nation or Government and does not contain any Territories or Possessions. Territories and/or Possessions can only be contained by Nations, not land masses. North America is a landmass, not a Nation.....and only contains North America, a few lakes here and there but no oceans or seas...QED and mate!...mac

Just so I'm clear on this - where does the isthmus start and stop in Central America? At a man-made (or should I say, man-defined) border of a country?
Where does the continent of South America begin?
Is Central America it's own continent, then?
After all, we're talking about the CONTINENT of North America, right?

No, central America is NOT it's own continent. it's an isthmus that connects the 2 continents of North and South America...kapich?.....
if you really want to know, Central America starts with Guatamala and Belize on the North (or East) and ends with Panama on the South (or West).....mac
