I hope our puppy is in a better place now
We had to put our puppy( disclaimer he was 9, but he was my puppy pup, got him when he was but a handful) to sleep.
He was suffering from a failing kidney. For a while he managed with pedialite ( they make a flavor less version) but it wasn't working anymore. He was the best pup I ever had. He knew our cars and would greet us at the door, tail just wagging. He got along great with the neighborhood kids and they loved to play with him.
I will miss him, but I could not watch him being a shadow of himself. I feel he was ready.
Have fun in doggy heaven.

Having just celebrated by little girl's seventh birthday today I feel particularly bad for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. I've had to do that three times since I've lived here. The last time was this past January with my cat. No more pets.

My last cat is 21. Only a matter of time, and he will join his peers in the garden. Then I have to deal with the dogs, and they are much higher maintenance than I want to deal with. I'm thinking about paying my daughters to take one each.

May he rest in peace. At least now he is somewhere he can rest and be free of suffering.
