    Daylight Saving Time

A friend of mine reminded me that this weekend, we spring forward.
He said, "Just got back from the store, this whole having to change your clocks twice a year is getting expensive!"

I just wish they would make up their minds - stay with standard or daylight, but drives me nuts twice a year. No other country does this.

now Dave,....just why on earth would you say such a thing? heck, we got it from europe and today all of europe or dammed neert all of europe uses dst as does all of north America or pert neert all. dst wouldn't make any sense for the equatorial zone anyway so it's not used much by anyone 'cept those in the temperate zones....

Daylight saving time (DST) by country, showing an overview of current usage and some history by country. For more detailed observations by country and continent please consult the continent level articles:
    Daylight saving time in Africa
    Daylight saving time in Asia
Daylight saving time in the Americas
    Summer Time in Europe
    Daylight saving time in Oceania

Most areas of North America and Europe observe daylight saving time (DST), while most areas of Africa and Asia do not. In South America most countries in the north of the continent near the equator do not observe DST, while Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay and southern parts of Brazil do. Oceania is also mixed, with New Zealand and parts of southern Australia observing DST, while most other areas do not.

My distaste for changing clocks twice a year is why I use clocks that set a reset themselves. God, but I love my atomic clocks.

I don't remember DST when I was stationed and lived in Germany.
