    Romo Out for the Season

    http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/...ss-rest-season

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will miss the rest of the season because of a back injury, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Monday.

Romo has a herniated disc in the lumbar region and needs to have surgery, a source told ESPN Senior NFL Insider Chris Mortensen.

Cowboys deny Romo is out for the season. Say his status is day to day.

Despite Reports, Garrett Says Romo Is "Day-To-Day"

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Romo is “undergoing treatment” for the injury, but he said the team had made no determination about his availability for this weekend’s game.

“We have not made that determination at all at this point,” Garrett said. “Like with any player the day after a game, you just want to see what the injury is. We’ve done that with Tony. We wanted to get him involved in treatment as quickly as we can, and we started that process.”

They didn't learn anything by watching what happened to RG3 last year. If a player is hurt and not 100% (at least 95%) they should be made to sit out but noooo the win is too important.

May be the best thing that could happen to the Cowboys...Now, if Jerry could just slip a disc.....

Would be better if Jerry would slip - while on the upper walkway at Cowboys Stadium!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt they would have had much of a chance beating the Eagles even with Romo. Orton has never impressed me.
Oh well, the usual - wait til next year.

As frustrated as I've been with Romo, I feel so sorry for him if he has a herniated disc. The pain is horrendous with those things!

They had a slim chance with Romo, now they have none.

Nah, they still have a chance...the offense will have to use more max protect, with quick screens and passes. Oh yeah, and maybe rely on the running game! Now as far as the defense is concerned, I have no answers for that and apparently Dallas doesn't either!

LOL, RG3 had a shredded knee, Romo has a herniated disc. The NFL is a multi billion dollar business, the cowboys are the most profitable franchise in the league, if he can play (making 130 million for his contract) then he should play, it is not like a doctor or teacher heading into work with a cold or a migraine headache and deciding to skip a day. On that note I am not so certain that the cowboys will not fair better without Romo, they will stick to the ground game with him out, which will drain the clock and keep the game close. With Romo they will do the opposite and leave their putrid defense on the field for the majority of the game, yuck.
