DIY - Cut a Formica Counter Top ?

Have any of you ever cut a Formica counter top?

I found what looks like the ideal solution, but I am a bit nervous on this DIY project.

I need the counter top to slide into a 58" opening with no end caps.

    Any expert opinion is desired?

I can understand why you might be nervous. I am led to believe that these are some of your past DIY attempts:Projects.pdf

The above technique worked like a charm.
Nice smooth cut and perfectly straight.
I modified it to remove the clamps and used wood screws to hold the guide in place.
It was easier to maneuver the long counter top during flip cutting.
