I am a bit confused about the function here:

Pulling the trigger on my Glock 26 does NOT cause the slide to close. It WILL cause the slide to open (rapidly) if there's a live round in the chamber. One does pull the trigger ON A CLEARED WEAPON to field strip the Glock. Here's a video showing field stripping of the Glock.
