I don't need a reason for a drink, neither does Dave.

Live as if you were living a second time, and as though you had acted wrongly the first time.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

What a tense past several hours. We've opened the flue with a box/ lid ready - nothing came out. Banged around, stuck things up there, got on the roof, banged around some more. Opened flue bazillions of times. Nothing. Didn't hear anything for hours and figured whatever it was took off (wishful thinking?!?). Thought I heard a scratch, but it could have been my imagination. The fire's going full force, so IF it was still up there it isn't any more (nothing fell down). I've got somebody coming on Tuesday to replace the cap and screen stuff. Thanks for all the suggestions. And yes, I've got an "adult beverage" set to settle my queasy stomach and nerves. I'm too old for this mess!

    FINALLY! I AGREE WITH MAC!

Such childish minds! It can't be Santa, of course, or the Hogwarts kids wouldn't be able to use the flues.
