Their FAQ suggests using a sealer around backsplashes to make cleanup easier.

I have some antique, and I do mean very antique bricks of various colors and shapes that were produced and stored at a local brick maker industry that existed on the riverbank many years ago along some old family land. The bricks are weathered and grainy, but I've thought about splitting them into 1.5" thickness and using them in a similar project. I know there are brick saws, but I have zero knowledge of cost or practicality. Anyone have any advice or info?

I would offer you some advice, but you would be wise to ignore it.

Slicing the bricks will, destroy them and their value but hey they're yours. Generally, brick veneer is made from 1/2 in slices I think that your 1.5 slice is too much and will cost you considerable counter space. Given the labor involved in the slicing, I would prefer to buy the veneer from Lowe's for around $10/ sq. ft.

Yeah, probably. Might just use them for an outdoor walkway.
