    Probably because you're numb.

I'll bet the days get mighty short there too.

With those temps, that's not the only thing that gets mighty short.

Sunrise is at about 11:00 right now and sunset is about 2:30. It's 4:00 here now and it's dark.

It was -42 today. From last Sunday to Wednesday, we got 16" of snow. Fairbanks isn't used to late amounts of snow like that.
Just think it was over 110 degrees warmer here than in fairbanks.

This morning I was bundled up in a tank top, flannel shirt, fleece hoodie and the same leather coat with the faux fur lining I bought in San Marcos. I also wore my flannel lined jeans, wool socks and musher boots. A fleece balaclava, thinsulate gloves, and lynx-earmuff completed the ensemble.

If i was going to be outside for any length of time (more than just car to building or back), I'd have on two pairs of gloves, an extra scarf and my hat.

After -35 it doesn't feel any colder.
    Wait until it hits -60!!!!

My oldest daughter and her family spent 8 years in the North Pole. She loved the summers (will get above 90 degrees and AC is usually not available) but after 6 months of dark she was going nuts.

Next time you talk to her, tell her to put in a good word to Santa for me.
