Just thought y'all would giggle a little bit to hear that it was -6 at my middle school when I got there this morning!

I went out to plug in my husbands truck and it didn't feel all that cold, but something kept irritating my nose. It seems the mucous was freezing on the nose hairs... (come on - you all have some!)

Why, you two have excess hair??

It's been a while, but I was just looking at the evening weather report the current temps in Anchorage and other points in Alaska. In the minus degrees????

I sure hope y'all have good feather comforters.

When I visited my daughter in March time frame it got up to a warm toasty -27 degrees the morning we left to come home. The nose thing is an experience.

It was -42 today. From last Sunday to Wednesday, we got 16" of snow. Fairbanks isn't used to late amounts of snow like that.

Gee and I was wondering if I should wear socks with my shoes today or tough it out and wear flip flops.

Flip flops always win with me unless the temps are 40 or below and it's wet. Sporting them right now! lol

Yep, that's what I saw. I couldn't fathom it until you verified it.

You must have to bundle up like Nannok of the north to go outside.

I suppose a good greeting would be "warmest wishes for the hilidays".

This morning I was bundled up in a tank top, flannel shirt, fleece hoodie and the same leather coat with the faux fur lining I bought in San Marcos. I also wore my flannel lined jeans, wool socks and musher boots. A fleece balaclava, thinsulate gloves, and lynx-earmuff completed the ensemble.

If i was going to be outside for any length of time (more than just car to building or back), I'd have on two pairs of gloves, an extra scarf and my hat.

After -35 it doesn't feel any colder.
