He has held down chicken and rice all week and has a lot more energy. Looks like he will be ok.

Excellent news. That puppy has been through enough for two or three puppies.

The mini dog has been cuddling up to him a lot. She has been so sweet to him. She even tries to sample the chicken and rice for him. I think she wants to make sure it's safe for him to eat....ya right.

When my smaller dog became ill last year my bigger dog seemed to "take care" of him. He followed him around, laid next to him and never got jealous or begged for attention when I was with the sick one. All of these things NEVER happen normally! Heavens forbid I pet one dog and not the other!

We tried to feed him regular dog food the other night and it came up. So no progress. Going to take him to Dr. Buckley when she gets a chance.

Have you tried a different brand of dog food?

Yes, even a milk bone comes back up. He can only keep rice down.

Hoping that he continues to improve.

I got some Beneful Healthy Fiesta Chicken and Rice dog food. We mixed that with some cooked rice and he held that down for two days. Then yesterday, we fed him nothing but the Beneful in small portions, and he has kept that down. He has his usual energy back.

I chose that food because it was chicken and rice and the pieces seemed to be very small.
