    Duel USB/Electrical Outlets

I'm probably the last to find out about these babies. So simple, so convenient.
    We're converting this weekend!

Hmmm, what is the maximum cable length for USB. (I know, I am being lazy, and should look it up myself, but I thought since you are doing an install you would know off the top of your head.)
I don't mind being called far right.
I have been right so far.

Since it's charging only, I don't know that length matters, but generally, I believe it's 3 or 5 meters, depending on which USB standard (1.1, 2, or 3)

OK, just for charging. I thought someone had figured out how to do a house wide USB. I been thinking about doing it for Ethernet. (Yes, I know there are wireless solutions)

I like the idea but the cost of the product is egregious, $19! The normal plug costs $3 to $5 and circuit breaker is about $12. Then the added cost of hiring someone to put it in although it is an easy DIY thing would be at least $50. So you have spent at least $70 buying that when you can go buy a block and cord for $5 on eBay and simply keep it in various locations. The really sad part is that within a year or two they will have wireless charging on most iPhones and it will make that $70 cord obsolete.

I agree, if you have to call in an electrician to change out a wall outlet then you're better off keeping what you've got.

From what I read about it, this also turns off the USB while not actually charging.
Most chargers still remain energized, even when not charging, from what I've read. That's what's called "vampire" power.
Theoretically, these could actually end up saving you money, if you were to do it yourself.
