Worst case scenario - cut the battery cable. Once the old battery is out of there then you can beat the crap out of that screw to get it off of there. Would then need to probably splice the two pieces of battery cable together.

Meh. I'll just hire someone if I can't manage it within the next few days.

You can use a socket (preferably a six point) or a wrench on that. If you have one.

If you want, I can stop in on Saturday on my way to the football game and give it a shot. I'll bring my trailer in case I need to take it home and test drive it... jk

I couldn't find the right sized socket, but I went to Lowes and dropped a few $ on a small set, an extension, and the wrench thingy. It actually moved, finally. Turned it and turned it, but the nut turns with the bolt, so I messed with it until it was almost dark, at which time I dropped the nut under the 4wheeler. In the grass and leaves. Did I mention it was getting dark? I'll attack again after work tomorrow. It's become my white whale.

I hope that your house is in better shape than your equipment. What a mess. No wonder there's all that rust and corrosion. A little TLC goes a long way. If that were a horse you'd give it better care.
