Compost

I no longer use chemical fertilizer on my yard, but instead apply a truckload of compost which greens the St Augustine up very quickly. I've always purchased my compost from the Brazos River Authority in Belton, but would like to buy a little closer to home here in Killeen. I've used the compost sold at the facility in Copperas Cove but the results are not the same. Any suggestions?

I never bought fertilizer,always used "homemade" horse and goat manure.Just don't use it to fresh,it will burn the plants,but it sure grows some nice tomatoes and squash.I've never tried it on St Augustine but it works great in the vegetable garden.
