The Henry Ford Museum at the headquarters of the Ford Motor Company located in Dearborn, Michigan is a neat place to visit. They have a collection of the buildings where some of the most important innovations in American history came to fruition. Among them the workshop used by Thomas Edison when he finally got the incandescent light bulb to work. The details were painstakingly preserved, right down to the dustbin with the remains of his previous attempts. Also, on display is, IMO, one of the most audacious fan letters in history. A missive from petty criminal, Clyde Barrow (Bonnie & Clyde) detailing his appreciation of the Ford automobile and noting that he prefers stealing them over any other make.

You forgot the outdoor site, Greenfield Village and all the sites. Henry Ford actually moved homes to create that place. A great way to spend a summer's day!

The Edison workshop is part of that complex. I just couldn't remember the name "Greenfield Village". Thanx!

A missive from petty criminal, Clyde Barrow (Bonnie & Clyde) detailing his appreciation of the Ford automobile and noting that he prefers stealing them over any other make.

Barrow shot and killed Doyle Johnson of Temple on Christmas day, 1932, while taking his car (one website says it was Johnson's WIFE'S car. His co-hort, Jones, remembered the car years later in a memoir as a "Model A roadster"

A book I read on the history of Bell County identified Johnson's car as a Chevrolet, which I thought was odd back then, given Clyde's "affection" for V-8 Fords.
