Hello - i have a small 1 year old chihuahua/dachsund mix, who had her annual shots about a month ago. The last couple of days, I've noticed a lump or knot on her right hip, close to her tail. It is soft, and moves around when I rub it. She doesn't seem to be in any pain when I touch it. Could this be a reaction to her shots, or something else?

I'll bet your vet diagnoses it as a sebaceous cyst. They are very treatable and not too serious.

If the area where you are feeling the lump is consistent with an injection site then it could be a lump caused by the immune response to vaccine. These are very common and unless painful or fluid-filled are nothing to worry about. If this is not an injection site then a cyst, lipoma or another mass is possible. If it grows in size, becomes painful or changes characteristics please have the little lump checked.

I hope this is helpful and I wish your pup well.
