Already big upsets - Baylor and Big 12 champ Iowa State are gone.

And the rule book absolutely did in SMU. Really classy of that Senior to say it was his fault and he should have known better.

Heard one of ESPN's "experts" say today that Kentucky is the best team of all time. Hard to believe. Probably never saw the Lew Alcindor UCLA Bruins or Jerry Lucas/John Havlicek Ohio State Buckeyes.

So far my bracket is good minus the Iowa State and Baylor upsets (knock on wood). The 2nd round is usually where my bracket falls apart!

Baylor men go ate up with the last minute dumbass... They went in to the last 2 minutes of the game with a 10 point lead and sat on their butts.

That, my friends, is known as snatching a defeat out of the jaws of victory.

And that, my friends, is why Baylor needs to recruit a new coach.

Nah, Art Briles will just shoot off his mouth and say the officiating sucked. :)

Well, at least the Lady Bears are going to the next round, having tromped NW state like a blue eyed stepchild.

UT's women's team is also. Both Baylor's and UT's men's team got beat.

Louisville in the Sweet 16 for the 4th year in a row!! Go Cards.

CenTexDave
March 25th, 2015, 8:50 AM
And I think they have a good shot at making it to the Final Four. Up next is NC State, who knocked off the region's #1 seed Virginia, then most likely Michigan State.
I learned two things about March Madness many years ago: (1) Always many upsets, and (2) Never overlook Michigan State.

Louisville always seems to get hot in the tourney, although I think Kentucky is the team to beat this year :puke:

After watching Kentucky blow West Virginia out of the arena last night I can definitely state that everyone else is dead meat.:)

Lady Bears play today on ESPN2... 6:30 pm...

For my wife and I, that's the only game worth watching.

Louisville in the Elite Eight? Why yes they are.

Louisville and Michigan State. Two great coaches gonna square off.

How 'bout them Lady Bears?

CenTexDave
March 28th, 2015, 8:51 AM
Now they get Notre Dame. Should be a great game.

sojourner truth
March 28th, 2015, 10:12 AM
Well my wifes prediction was that they would make it to the elite 8, but no further.... Now we get to see how prophetic she is. Tomorrow they play.

CenTexDave
March 28th, 2015, 10:43 AM
Notre Dame will be tough. All number 1 seeds still remain, and 3 number 2 seeds remain.
If the Lady Bears don't do it this year they will next year for sure. I read they start 3 freshmen and only one senior. Their #6 player is a freshman, plus their recruiting class for next season is one of the tops in the country.

UCONN gets the Lady Horns. I was watching it - just turned it off because it was such a blowout - UCONN leads 70-28 with 16:45 left. :))

CenTexDave
March 28th, 2015, 1:24 PM
105-54, UCONN. The Lady Horns have a long way to go to get back to their glory days.

Louisville's Lady Cards lost to Dayton!!

Kentucky pulled a close one out over Notre Dame last night. Now we'll see how they do against Wisconsin in the Final Four.

LauraA
March 29th, 2015, 11:34 AM
Oh my gosh that game was a nail biter. We were rooting for Notre Dame ( my father-in-law graduated from there and I hate Kentucky.) It looks like Kentucky isn't as untouchable as people think.

Well, the best I can do is 2nd place in my tournament pool after Arizona lost to Wisconsin. I really thought they would choke under pressure but I guess they're legit and just might be able to pull off the upset against Kentucky.

CenTexDave
March 29th, 2015, 2:09 PM
That's why it's called March Madness. :)

Michigan State in OT!!!! Very good game.
One last piece of the puzzle - Duke takes on Gonzaga in about 1 hour.

CenTexDave
March 29th, 2015, 6:23 PM
Duke all the way.
Now we get Kentucky-Wisconsin and Duke-Michigan State in the Final Four.
On the women's side Baylor takes on Notre Dame later tonight.

Go Michigan State:).

I have no clue about Basketball, but hubby is from Michigan.

LauraA

For the record I think Kentucky and Duke are the two most obnoxious teams. I will root for anyone who plays against them.

Baylor's Lady Bears are out of it now. I watched that game - they looked pretty terrible.

sojourner truth
March 30th, 2015, 1:39 PM
Yep... No rebounding. Giving the Irish 3 and 4 shots at every basket. Plus, their point makers were off target... a bunch.

But like Kim says... Get 'em next year... They did make it to the elite 8 though... That ain't hay.

CenTexDave
March 30th, 2015, 2:40 PM
Very true, but that is where it ended last year, also to Notre Dame.
Can't let anyone get 3 or 4 shots at their own basket like that. Piss poor rebounding. You could see Kim doing a slow burn on the sidelines. She knew what was wrong but couldn't get her players to stop the Irish from rebounding like that.
So many missed layups (by both teams) I thought it was a junior high game.

CenTexDave
April 5th, 2015, 12:22 PM
Hope the Badgers win it all Monday night, but will be a tough game. Duke beat them earlier this year - in Madison - but that was 4 months ago.

Women's Championship Game: UCONN - Notre Dame. UCONN demolished Maryland; South Carolina couldn't make foul shots or they would have won.

Was a good game, but Wisconsin couldn't hang on. I really think their point guard likes to dribble too much. Should have tried to penetrate and work the ball in more because they had Duke's big guys in early foul trouble.

Tonight the girls get it on - UCONN and Notre Dame. Will be glad when this annual ritual is over. :)

CenTexDave

UCONN won easily. Even UCLA during John Wooten's days weren't dominant like this.

That was a great game to watch last night. I really enjoyed it. Would like to see them get one more so Stewart goes out with a championchip for each year.

Getting tired of UCONN, UCONN, UCONN. Just as I was when Tennessee always seemed to win it.
